We got our regular ultrasound pictures at 7 weeks and the baby looks like a little blob, now he/she looks like an actual baby. When my doctor came in he said we were going to listen to the heartbeat but it may be too early to hear it so if we can't we'll go take a look. I told him that even if we did hear the baby's heartbeat we should go take a peak anyway. We were definetly able to hear the heartbeat so that was cool and he still let us go take a quick peak at the baby.
The baby was just hanging out at first so to try to make him/her move the doctor poked at him a little and man did he/she really start moving! It was really cool to see the baby so active.
We should have our half way ultrasound around the middle of September so hopefully we'll be able to tell the sex of the baby then. Cole was with us today at the doctor's office (my Mom's out of town so she was unable to watch him like normal) so he got to hear the heartbeat and see the baby. Not sure how much he really got it but he seemed to understand a little and really enjoy it. He was walking out holding the picture saying it was his sister which I thought was cute. I guess we'll just have to see if that is the case in a few months.
